At PKO, we are dedicated to providing young people with the best possible learning opportunities. That’s why we offer hundreds of weeks of practical training across all our locations every year. Vocational training and work experience periods (TET) offer a valuable opportunity to explore working life, PKO’s locations and career prospects in the field. Through practical training, you gain a clear understanding of the study or career path that interests you. Many PKO employees have joined us by completing their practical training through educational institutions. After that, they’ve often continued with us in summer jobs or part-time roles alongside their studies, for example.Practical trainingAt PKO, we support the development of professional skills, which is why we collaborate closely with local educational institutions. We offer trainee placements at retail, restaurant and service business locations. As a trainee, you are a valued and equal member of our workplace community. During your placement, you’ll have the opportunity to carry out tasks that align with the goals of your degree programme. We provide each trainee with thorough induction training and offer a safe working environment and the right tools. You will be assigned a workplace supervisor or other instructor who will support your learning on the job. Vocational students mainly complete their trainee periods through a training agreement. A training agreement is an agreement on non-paid training to further your studies and prepare you for graduation. In addition, vocational students have the opportunity to sign a flexible apprenticeship training agreement alongside their summer job, allowing them to progress in their studies during the summer.
