TET traineeships are a great opportunity to get acquainted with working life. You can inquire about TET positions directly at the locations, just go in person and ask for a supervisor.
Upper secondary studies
At PKO, we support the development of professional skills, which is why we collaborate closely with local educational institutions. We offer trainee placements at retail, restaurant and service business locations. Vocational students mainly complete their trainee periods through a training agreement. A training agreement is an agreement on non-paid training to further your studies and prepare you for graduation. In addition, vocational students have the opportunity to sign a flexible apprenticeship training agreement alongside their summer job, allowing them to progress in their studies during the summer. You can enquire about trainee placements by contacting your desired location directly. Please note that the availability of placement opportunities depends on factors such as the number of applicants and whether the workload at the locations allows staff to supervise trainees.
University students
We work together with higher education institutions in our area of operation, providing opportunities for on-the-job training, thesis and diploma work and various development projects. Students in higher education can complete on-the-job training at our outlets. You might develop a suitable thesis or diploma work topic during your on-the-job training, but you can also find a topic at the Northern Karelia Cooperative Society even without training.
